Disney Channel’s “Night of Stars” was full of great features for
Disney fans.
We saw new music video, new episodes of “Hannah Montana” and “Wizards of Waverly Place” and of course the premiere of the DCOM “Dadnapped”.
“Dadnapped” went head-to-head with Nickelodeon’s original movie “Spectacular”.
Who ended up on top of the ratings chart? Dadnapped! In fact, it out performed Spectacular by double-digit percent margins. Sweet!

- At 7 o’clock an all-new “Wizards of Waverly Place” dominated an original “True Jackson, VP” on Nickelodeon, overshadowing delivery by 45% in Total Viewers (4.5 million vs. 3.1 million), by 82% in Kids 6-11 (2.0 million vs. 1.1 million) and by 75% in Tweens 9-14 (1.7 million vs. 972,000).
- “Wizards of Waverly Place” delivered Disney Channel’s largest audience in the time period in the net’s history in Total Viewers (4.5 million), Kids 6-11 (2.0 million) and Tweens 9-14 (1.7 million-tied 1/1/07).
- At 7:30 p.m., the all-new “Hannah Montana,” guest starring Rob Reiner, surpassed its last original episode by 19% in Total Viewers (4.4 million vs. 3.7 million), by 27% in Kids 6-11 (1.9 million vs. 1.5 million) and by 21% in Tweens 9-14 (1.7 million vs. 1.4 million).
- With “Hannah Montana,” Disney Channel registered the largest Total Viewer audience ever in the time period and recorded second-best levels in Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14, behind only Monday, 10/9/06.
- In its debut, Disney Channel’s 74th Disney Channel Original Movie, “Dadnapped” (8:00 - 9:40 p.m.), was particularly dominant against key time period competition, defeating the highly-publicized debut of original movie knock-off “Spectacular!” on Nickelodeon/Nick-at-Nite by a significant 39% in Total Viewers (4.6 million vs. 3.3 million), by 62% in Kids 6-11 (2.1
