I hope the layouts is nice. My website is still under construction.

Sure, we've been through a lot together and, along with my daughter, Kate, you've been there since the beginning. At least since her beginning. For years, you've been our early-morning companion.
Lately, however, I have noticed some troubling signs. "Higglytown Heroes" jumped the shark after apparently exhausting its supply of small-town bus drivers and teachers and moving on to the kinds of careers that hardly seem vital to the town's lifeblood. Choreographers and police artists?
Then we had to deal with the arrival of this new Wiggle, Sam. Have you noticed how child-rearing experts have advised sitting down with your child to talk about Sam as if it required the gravity of saying, for instance, "Now Chip, there's something I need to tell you: Daddy wants you to meet your new Mommy." I mean, he's a Wiggle.
And I really never figured out that show where that guy was living with the puppets in the forest. (True aside: There's a retail establishment near my place that is called, honestly, "Puppet Heaven." Doesn't that sound like the most excruciating store on the planet? After, of course, Anthropologie.)
Anyway, what's really inflamed me is the recent decision by the Disney higher-ups to start showing advertisements for its evening—i.e., non-preschool programs—during the early-morning hours when my daughter is watching as she eats her oatmeal.
What's the problem, you ask? I'll tell you. The other morning, we're watching the Diz—as I like to call it—and there she stood, big as life, rockin' out the show.
Miley, however, is inescapable. There she was half-clad in Vanity Fair, a magazine I always thought was reserved for Gwyneth Paltrow, Cate Blanchett and anyone who has ever hooked up with a Kennedy. There she was as a voice in the animated movie " Bolt," along with John Travolta, who plays her dog. Then it was the Grammys, right after she was caught making fun of Asian kids. You know you've gone global when you start issuing public apologies.
Call me overprotective. I'm still deciding whether I am ever going to tell my daughter about the Internet. And I'm a little bothered, frankly, by Kate's ardent love for Ariel, the Little Mermaid. Why? Because, look, Ariel didn't just exchange her tail for human legs. She also got, well, let's say The Full Monty.
Keep the tail, Ariel. And join a clamshell convent while you're at it.
Speaking of convents, this is why I think I have recently gravitated to a series of books featuring that precious little French girl, Madeline.
Madeline never bops around onstage, never wears fashions that are just a little too mature for her. In fact, to her credit, she always wears a hat. Even indoors. And sleeps in a nightshirt as big as a circus tent. This is what I call a role model. C'est vrai!
Maybe I am overreacting. Maybe Kate can handle the big-girl world. I have been slowly trying to introduce her to more sophisticated fare. We've been watching some of my beloved childhood movies—although that has produced an odd dynamic in terms of her socialization. Things Kate is not scared of: Wicked Witch of the West, Darth Vader. Things Kate is scared of: grapefruit, toothpaste.
So, Disney, consider yourself warned. But even though you are on my list, you are lucky in one respect. It is a pretty long list, so it may take me some time to get to you. (You're No. 36, right after Xtreme trash bags. Why are they extreme? Am I bagging trash at a motocross?)
While I have visions of Kate wearing a hat, living in a convent school and speaking French like sweet Madeline, I know it's not going to happen. Even Kate knows it. She likes to tease me that she can't stay 3 forever.
"I have to turn 4," she says. "I want a princess cake."
Otherwise known as The Girl Who Will Ruin Everything.
I remember the first time I ever heard of this tornado. I was in, of all places, Omaha (don't ask), eating a late dinner at a downtown brew pub.
"You see all the excitement before?" the bartender asked me.
I shook my head.
"Hannah Montana's here. She was playing at the arena."
"Who?"
"You know. She's that 14-year-old singer. It was crazy here."
"I didn't see anything."
"Well, she used the VIP entrance."
"You have a VIP entrance?"
I have since been fully briefed on Miley-mania and Hannah's oeuvre. And let me tell you something, I don't want Kate living any kind of a double life, much less sounding like a 70-pound mixture of Hall & Oates, The Partridge Family and a leaky balloon. I want to keep her as far away as possible from this hyper-pubescent mixture of rock 'n' roll, marketing and suggestive lyrics. You're doubting me on the last part? The other morning, during a commercial break, Hannah sang a song called "It's All Right Here."

“Hannah” costar Jason Earles told LA.com, “I know they’re planning premieres all over the place — in London, Rome, Paris and L.A.. I’m not sure how many they’ll send the whole cast to, but I know Miley has to do all of them. I think there’s going to be a big media frenzy leading up to it, and it’s testing really, really well — as good as any movie that Walt Disney Pictures has ever had.” They also caught up with Jason and his cast mates Emily Osment and Mitchel Musso at this week’s Hollywood premiere for the fun, fan-pleasing “Jonas Brothers: the 3D Concert Experience,” which opens today (2/27), speaking of frenzies. Musso and Osment each have their own fledgling musical careers going, and each has an album on the way - his June 2, hers sometime this year. “I’ve been working on this about a year and a half now so it’s a big long project, but that’s why it’s going to be good , I’m spending a lot of time on it,” she says. “It’s sort of like a different angle of myself, so it’ll be nice to put that side out there. It’s a completely different arena, away from ‘Hannah Montana,’ away from Disney,’ something I’ve always wanted to do.”

Mitchel Musso shared, “I think my favorite scene was when I blow up a cake all over the place. Lily (Emily Osment), Miley’s best friend, has this 5-foot-tall cake. Of course, it’s not a real bomb inside. But I hadn’t seen the cast in a year-and-a-half, and the first day of filming was just watching them get covered in cake from me. I was just watching it, all squeaky clean. They had these 3-foot-wide cannons, filled with ice cream and cake and stuff to shoot all over them! It was hilarious. Miley revealed about her emotional battle with bullying mean girls in her new memoirs, Miles To Go. ‘I never told my parents about bullying. Sometimes I tried to defend myself. Sometimes I apologized. Sometimes I walked away.
I always felt alone. But the night I got the cafeteria threat it seemed like Operation Make Miley Miserable was escalating to a new level. More like Operation Take Miley Down.
I was so scared that I told a friend from cheerleading about it on the phone. Should I skip lunch? ShouId I arm myself with a ketchup bottle and prepare for battle? It was like an afterschool special about the runty girl who gets beat up.
But instead of having and happy ending with an uplifting message about overcoming adversity, this plot would end with my living out the rest of my life as a twelve-year-old hermit, friendless and alone..
After bailing on too many auditions because of bullies, I did not have the comfort of cheerleading anymore. I just got by. I started hanging out with some older kids and tried to put it out of my mind, but the bully girls continued to give me a hard time every day.
I hated school. I never turned my back to open my locker without being aware of who else was in the hall. I never lingered between classes or after school. Every time I went to the bathroom or walk around the corner, I was on edge. I didn’t feel safe.‘

E! Online explored whether Miley Cyrus’ Oscar dress was a rip off of an iconic Dior gown from 1949 called the Junon. Fashion designer Nick Verroes: ‘You could argue that it isn’t [a ripoff], because the original gown is strapless. But I was surprised at just how similar the beading and shaping of the skirt was. If it was just a train, or just the back..’
In the past, designers have sued each other, but only when one used an exact pattern or print copyrighted by another. Zuhair Murad, who created Miley’s gown, did not call out the similarities between Murad’s gown and the Junon. A publicist for Murad said, ‘Zuhair is aware of the similarity of this gown. He is constantly inspired by Christian Dior, and this gown, in particular, re-creates the look of the Dior gown using today’s technology.’

I remember the exact date: June 11, 2006. It was the day I met my first love. Let’s call him Prince Charming. I don’t want to use his name because this isn’t about who he is or what I meant to him. It’s about how I felt and what our relationship meant to me. So we were at this benefit, and I didn’t know anything about the prince except I knew from a friend that he thought I was pretty. He came up to me with bunch of guy friends and introduced himself. Instantly, I wanted them to go to go away and just to be with him. Prince Charming and I broke up on December 19, 2007. The hardest day ever. My life felt like it had ground to a halt, but the rest of the world kept right on rolling. I was on tour. People were counting on me.”
